Summary & Re-cap:  8th Anniversary Celebration and Harvest Festival on 10/29/06...

Ron Jones anchored the entertainment and M.C.'ed all the day's events.   Mr. Jones is an award-winning deejay in the entertainment and wedding industry, and La Jolla's personal favorite...  Thank you!
Soul Diego was the live band, playing FANTASTIC music all day, WOW!   Kids & adults were dancing on the grass!
Clumsy Mumsy and Cricket, professional clowns & face painters, were painting the children all day
Costume Parade went through the entire market and the children had a blast!
Kids Activities: Crazy Cupcake Walk, Pumpkin Decorating, Guess the Weight of the Giant Pumpkin, face painting, balloons, and special paint printing activity by Sonja Devine (La Jolla Elementary's Art Teacher), and Fishing Booth run by La Jolla Elementary's teachers!
Luke Andrews (2nd grade student at LJES) had the closest guess for the weight of the giant pumpkin: 185 pounds!  It took thier family all afternoon to carve it and it greeted all their trick-or-treaters at thier house.
Scott Peters  was at the market, our District One Councilman
Sarah Agler, professional opera singer (and market co-founder!) sang God Bless America
Juanita Davis, professional singer and vendor of specialty soaps at the market, sang the Star-Spangled Banner
Francine Busby, Congessional Candidate, visited and spoke at the market as well
Photographer Michael Spengler provided a beautiful portrait setting and took fabulous Fall photographs of groups and individuals for only a $5 donation... and he donated ALL of the money straight back to La Jolla Elementary!
Darcy Young, our Market Manager, and Assistant Manager Dennis, again ran a fabulous market full of high quality vendors.  Everything ran smoothly and vendors and customers enjoyed a wonderful day together.
VENDORS included artisans and services in many shapes & sizes & varieties, delicious food court and beverages, and of course our wonderful Certified Farmers.
